BURN BAN PERMITS:

 Now required for fire prevention and protection. Any person outside the unincorporated areas of DeSoto Parish is required by Parish Ordinance to obtain a burn permit before starting a fire. To obtain a permit call 1-855-600-BURN (2876). This is a non-emergency E911 number where they will issue a permit and notify the respective fire protection district. Issuance of Burn Permits will be denied if a Burn Ban is in effect. Burn Permits are not required for persons owning, renting, or leasing residential property and performing ordinary and routine yard work on the residential property.
